Institut Villa Pierrefeu

Founded in 1954, Institut Villa Pierrefeu (IVP) is the world’s oldest Finishing school still in operation. Led by the third generation of the same family, the institute trains students in international etiquette and diplomatic protocol in an exceptional Swiss setting.

For more than 70 years, Institut Villa Pierrefeu has been passing on unique expertise in international etiquette, official protocol, and savoir-vivre. More than 4,800 students from 120 countries have been trained at this institution located in Glion, above Montreux.

IVP’s philosophy is based on exploring the diversity of cultures, customs, and traditions, while respecting each student’s individual values. The institute does not seek to impose a single model, but to develop interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and mastery of social and professional codes.

The programmes combine the heritage of Finishing traditions with the essential skills for modern life. Table etiquette, household management, intercultural communication, and diplomatic protocol are taught in a welcoming yet demanding setting. IVP also offers advisory assignments for companies, institutions, and individuals wishing to deepen their mastery of these areas.
